Man City 2-1 Leeds RECAP: Hosts hold on after Rodrigo's late strike following Gundogan double

  Manchester City moved four points clear at the top of the Premier League by surviving a late scare to beat a Leeds side playing under new manager Sam Allardyce for the first time. Two fine first-half goals by Ilkay Gundogan had done the damage for City, who appeared utterly dominant as they headed towards their 10th straight league win.

  Lionel Richie has praised King Charles III ahead  of his Coronation on Saturday May 6  in the United Kingdom. The  American Idol  judge will perform during Sunday's celebrations at Windsor Castle, and told reporters that he was over the moon to be invited to the "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity".  "To be a part of it is everything. This doesn’t happen every day. So, am I excited about this? Absolutely. This is not like any other time in life or any occasion. Once the lights hit and the music starts it’s just going to be magical. I have to pinch myself. We’re walking in history," he added. 

Man City vs Leeds United highlights as Ilkay Gundogan double ensures win

  Manchester City extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table to four points this afternoon as they beat Leeds United 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium. A brace from Ilkay Gundogan saw the hosts earn a 2-0 half-time lead but the club captain's second half penalty miss brought fury from Pep Guardiola who saw Leeds go up the other end and grab a goal back. Arsenal next play on Sunday when they travel north to take on Newcastle United to try and reduce the gap once more. Sam Allardyce, who has been installed at Elland Road in a bid to keep them in the top flight, hailed his side's effort in his first outing. Kevin De Bruyne returned for City after missing their last two games, while there was also a rare Premier League start for youngster Rico Lewis.

Rodrygo scored twice as Real Madrid won the Copa del Rey for the first time since 2014 after beating Osasuna in the final in Seville.

  The Brazilian was on hand to fire the winner from close range after Toni Kroos' shot deflected into his path. Osasuna, playing in only their second Copa del Rey final, had threatened an upset when Lucas Torro levelled. His grandsons, Louis and Gus Lopes (the 13-year-old sons of Andrew and Camilla's  daughter Laura ), and Freddy Parker Bowles (the 13-year-old son of their son, Tom Parker Bowles),  will all serve as Queen Camilla's Pages of Honor today . Perhaps he gave them some tips; Andrew served as a page at the coronation of Queen Elizabeth in 1953. Lionel Messi apologises to PSG team-mates for unauthorised Saudi Arabia trip

  Lionel Messi has apologised to his Paris Saint-Germain team-mates for skipping training in a video on social media. PSG were embarrassingly beaten 3-1 at home by Lorient on Sunday, with the first-team squad having their planned day off cancelled. However, Messi was not present at training at the start of the week as he was in Saudi Arabia for a planned trip as part of his contract with the country's tourist board. He had twice cancelled on such a visit earlier in the season. Les Parisiens opted to suspend  Messi  for two weeks following this indiscretion and he is now set to miss their next two matches, which could prove crucial after rivals Marseille worked themselves into the Ligue 1 title race.

La Liga president makes bold claim about Lionel Messi's rumoured Barcelona return

  La Liga president Javier Tebas has insisted that Lionel Messi will have to lower his salary demands in order to re-join Barcelona in the summer. Messi's current contract at Paris Saint-Germain is due to expire in the summer and  90min  understands that the legendary forward is now focused on trying to seal a move to Barça. In order to make a blockbuster return to La Blaugrana, La Liga president Tebas told  RMC  that the forward will have to sign a contract worth much less than what he's currently being paid at PSG due to Barcelona's financial woes. PSG have long-expected that Messi will leave the club, but the relationship between himself and the club frayed even further this past week when Les Parisiens were forced to suspend Messi for an unauthorised trip to Saudi Arabia.
